If your business already runs on Microsoft 365, Teams is hard to argue with — it is included in what you are already paying, and its Office, calendar and enterprise identity integration is deeper than anything we will build. We will be honest about that first, because the cost comparison only makes sense once it is said.

The honest cost position

Teams is bundled with Microsoft 365, so for a business already on it, adding WorkAndGo is an additional cost rather than a saving — unless it replaces more than the chat. The comparison that actually matters is against what you would otherwise buy on top of Teams: a rostering tool, a leave and HR system, a timesheet-to-payroll path, and a monitoring product if you need one. That stack is where the money goes, and that stack is what WorkAndGo is.

Set up by a business, not by an IT department

Teams is built to be administered. Tenants, policies, licensing, channel governance — it rewards an organisation with IT staff and punishes one without. A twelve person business does not have a Teams administrator and should not need one. WorkAndGo is set up in an afternoon by whoever runs the place.

The Australian layer Microsoft does not have

Fair Work award interpretation, rosters that understand penalty rates and public holidays, and data held in Sydney are not things Microsoft builds for the Australian small-business market, because that market is a rounding error to them. It is the entire market to us.

When Microsoft Teams is the better choice

Pick Teams if you are already deep in Microsoft 365, your team is desk-based, and you have IT support to run it. Pick WorkAndGo if you run shifts, if you would be buying rostering and HR on top of Teams anyway, or if you want something a business owner can administer without help.
